At DownSyndrome.ca, the safety and protection of children is a core priority. We are committed to preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation in all forms and ensuring that our digital platforms—including our mobile app—adhere to the highest standards of child safety.

Our Commitment to Child Safety and CSAE Prevention

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This includes any content or behavior that endangers, exploits, or abuses children, such as:

  • Grooming, sextortion, or trafficking of minors

  • Distribution, solicitation, or promotion of child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

  • Any conduct that sexually exploits or endangers children

We strictly prohibit CSAE on our platform and are actively monitoring, reviewing, and responding to any suspected abuse or violation.

Our Process for Handling CSAM

If we detect or receive reports of CSAM:

  • We immediately remove the content and suspend the account

  • We report to appropriate law enforcement agencies in accordance with Canadian law and international best practices

  • We cooperate fully with investigations and preserve data as legally required

Legal Compliance

DownSyndrome.ca complies with all applicable child safety and data protection laws, including:

  • Canada’s Protecting Children from Internet Predators Act

  • The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)

  • Relevant international obligations, including INTERPOL and NCMEC reporting protocols
